The big sister 40 inch Supermodel has been one of everyone's favourite boards. Earthwing may have just improved on what was a perfect deck.
Hard not to say the obvious, this is a smaller version of the 40 inch. That is not such a bad thing. A smaller deck is easier to slide, you have more control over. The size and shape make it a must for your short list.
Look at the shape, Earthwing have given you maximum foot room without wheelbite. You would think this is an easy design feature but it takes a long time of prototyping to get it right. You want to buy a deck that is designed right.
Board scoops are always cool. Whether it be a Gray-Nicholls cricket bat with a scoop or a longboard with two scoops (routered channels) down the side. They do have a function. The scoops on this board add torsional flex without making the board flexy. This will allow the load to be evenly distributed between all 4 wheels in slides for a more predictable ride and kick arse steeze.
Without a doubt, this a great all round board. It excels at freeride, would be equally good at cruising and carving around your local turf. The solid nature of the deck would also make it suitable as a downhill deck.
